An overdue update...

k, quick update.
- I GOT THE JOB!!  For anyone who hasn't heard yet, I'm going to be teaching middle school math (I know, weird) in downtown Philadelphia this fall.  Basically this means I will be CRAZY busy this summer.  It's going to be hard.  Probably the most difficult thing I will ever do in my life, but I am up for the challenge.  I am so excited....I'm gonna be a teacher!!
- We'll be coming home for several weeks in June.  From June 1st through the 19th.  And I won't have to work or anything.  Yay!  Can't wait to see everyone!
- We LOVE our new church.  Just thought I'd mention it.  Check out our website - www.thewellpa.com  It's awesome!
- This Saturday David and I, along with about thirty people from The Well (our church) participated in the Global Night Commute.  In a nutshell, we spent the night in a public park in Philly to raise awareness about a war that is going on in northern Uganda where children are forced to walk miles into the nearest city each night to sleep or face the threat of being kidnapped and being forced to fight in the country's civil war.  It is a serious situation that, up until recently, almost no one was aware of.  Check out more info at www.invisiblechildren.com  If you're interested in watching the movie, let me know, I can send you a copy!  Here are a few pictures from Saturday night/Sunday morning:

Contrary to belief, I'm still around...:)

Yep...it's been a long time!  Lots of stuff has happened here in Jersey since Christmas, and sometime this week I will fill everyone in on what those things are.  But, today I have one thing to share - I have an interview tomorrow that will basically determine the rest of my life here in New Jersey.
I've told some of you about it, but let me catch everyone else up to speed.  I applied for a teaching position with a program called Teach for America.  I know, weird, huh?  Since I didn't go to school for a teaching degree.  Well, all you need to have in order to apply is a bachleors degree, so that's me!  The program places teachers in inner-city and under-privledged schools...tough stuff.  But I'm so excited!!  There are three potential places that I can teach within an hour of Princeton, one of them being Philadelphia.
Tomorrow's interview will last all day long.  I am nervous, but very hopeful.  I really feel that this may be just the thing that God has been preparing me for.
I would covet all of your prayers tomorrow - that I would be calm and just trust that whatever happens is what God has in store for me.  Please pray that the interviewers would see my passion for people and especially youth.
I find out April 13th about the results...I am hopeful, but at peace.
I miss you all, and hope that you know you are daily in my thoughts and prayers.  We'll be coming home in June for a few weeks.  I can't wait!

SNOW!!! Well, we got up yesterday morning before church, and David just happened to look out the window...to see about four inches of snow on everything!! What a surprise! Yes...somehow, we did not hear about this snow news until it happened. BUT an even bigger snowfall is expected for tonight, which should be interesting...I gotta say, when snow is forcasted here, it actually seems to happen! The only problem is, we're suppose to get about five or more inches, and I'm suppose to work tomorrow morning at 5:15am...while it's still accumulating. Wish me luck!
Here's a few pictures from yesterday -

Here's me in front of our aparment

And here's a view of what we see out the front window

I cannot seem to fix the text to go next to the picture...sad.

Oh the joys of married life...we went to Ikea on Tuesday and got a new desk unit and then rearranged the living room. I'll have to take some pictures cuz it looks pretty awesome!
But the bad news...our kitchen sink overflowed last night. It was gross. And it's still not fixed and I'm waiting for the plumber to come right now. I hope they get here soon...it's pretty nasty.
We're coming home in two weeks! I just hope we have enough time to do all the things we want to do and see all the people we want to see! I just know it's going to feel short...but we'll come home again at the beginning of summer.
I think the plumber is here! Gotta go.
